Are optical interconnections supported?

HyperMAC, with its embedded clock, can be transmitted on 50/125 μm multimode optical fibre over a distance of 500 metres.

SuperMAC uses separate pairs of Cat 5/Cat 5e cable for clock and data and therefore cannot be transmitted over optical fibre.
